Beginning this school year, the Bonham Journal and Papa Murphy's Pizza will be honoring a Bonham ISD teacher as the Teacher of the Week. The Teacher of the Week will be featured in the Bonham Journal and will receive a complimentary pizza from Papa Murphy's. The Teacher of the Week will be chosen by the students/community of Bonham ISD. Each week's voting will begin on Monday and run through the weekend. Facilities and Enrollment
Bonham ISD is composed of five campuses, a disciplinary alternative education program, and a pregnancy education and parenting program facility. Bonham High School serves approximately 600 students in grades 9-12. L.H. Rather Junior High School houses approximately 300 students in grades 7-8. Approximately 1200 students are enrolled in kindergarten through sixth grade. I.W. Evans Intermediate School serves students in grades 4-6. Finley-Oates Elementary, which opened in 1997, instructs students in grades K-3. The Head Start Program at Bailey Inglish meets the diverse needs of Fannin County's qualifying three and four year olds. All campuses are accredited by the Texas Education Agency.

The Bonham Area
Located 70 miles northeast of Dallas, 35 miles west of Paris, 27 miles east of Sherman and 15 miles south of the Oklahoma border, Bonham has a population of approximately 10,000. The county seat of Fannin County boasts many attractions, such as the Sam Rayburn Library and Home, Fort Inglish Village, Fannin County Museum of History, Lake Bonham, Bonham State Park, historic bed and breakfasts, Red River Regional Hospital and a municipal airport.
Bonham ISD is a Class 3A school district that serves approximately 2,000 students. Within an hour's drive of Bonham are Austin College, Texas A&M University - Commerce, Grayson County College, Collin County Community College and Paris Junior College.
